Now you can really blow their socks off with the inclusion of a fantasically detailed 1/72 or 1/48 scale model of the aircraft on its own magnetised arm which screws into the top of the 100yr old mango wood stand.
Custom built and featuring extremely detailed modelling including harnesses, cockpit instruments and beautifully hand painted airframe components, the models are simply awesome. Many of the model kits are more than 30 to 40yrs old themselves making them vintage collectables in their own right.
With such a wide and diverse range of instruments arriving each week, tracking down the corresponding aircraft model is a challenge in itself and while some are available in both 1/72 and larger scale, others were only moulded in the larger 1/48 or 1/32 scale. The larger the scale model the more detail and time required to create the model.
To request one of these amazing models with your mounted Warbird Instrument, simply click on the + Model Aircraft on the Product Page and it will be automatically added to your order. The models come in two prices - Single Engine Fighter or Twin/Multiple Engine Fighter/Bomber due to the added detail and time required to build the larger aircraft. As an example, the single engine P51Mustang takes approximately 3 to 4 days to build whereas the more complex 4 engine Avro Lancaster, B17 Flying Fortress or Seahawk Helicopter can take more than a week.
Modelling will commence as soon as your order has been received but please allow for the additional time taken to receive your order. Orders for just Instrument and stand will be dispatched immediately.
We have had a number of requests for specific aircraft and their instruments as a special gift for a father, grandfather or favourite uncle who flew in that aircraft during the war. Where possible we'll endeavour to meet that request although it's not always easy to know what will show up on our doorsteps. Please feel free to make a request via the Contact Us page and we'll try our best to meet your order.
