Rare 1943 Douglas C-47 Skytrain Automatic Pilot Hydraulic Pressure Gauge

Produced by the Electric Auto-Lite Co, this H2 10231-A Automatic Pilot Oil Pressure Gauge was installed in both USAAF and USN aircraft including the Douglas C-47 Skytrain.

The single, direct reading gauge worked of a Bourdon tube and indicated the hydraulic fluid pressure in the servo unit of the aircraft's automatic pilot.

Measuring pressure in Pounds Per Square Inch the gauge read from 0 to 300lbs and was located to the right of the C-47’s large  4 x Tank Fuel Gauge on the co-pilot’s side of the cockpit.

The instrument has a Manufacture’s name plate with a production date of 1943 and both the Bakelite Housing, Dial and Glass Face are in excellent condition for an instrument over 77 years old.

Combined with an extremely detailed hand built and airbrushed model of the USAAF’s work horse troop and logistics transporter, this C-47 Skytrain collectable is mounted on a 100yr Mango Wood Stand and Magnetic Arm and comes complete with a double sided printed and laminated Fact Sheet featuring a photograph of the instrument in the C-47 Skytrain cockpit.

What a fantastic gift for any aviation enthusiast or a great gift for a budding, active or retired pilot.

While this model is available in the highly detailed 1/72 scale version, I do have a super detailed Giant 1/48 scale kit that features opening cargo door and D Day parachutists exiting the aircraft!
