Rare Douglas A-20 Havoc, Square D, Duel Engine Magneto Switch,

The Douglas A-20 Havoc’s 2 × Wright R-2600-23 Twin Cyclone 14-cylinder air-cooled radial piston engines, delivered 1,600 hp each giving tghe light bombver/reconnaissance attack aircraft and maximum speed of 325 mph.

Produced by the Square D Company, this Type B-6 Duel Ignition Magneto Switch was installed on the upper left of the aircraft’s main flying panel.

The B-6 ignition switch had two switches, one each for the left and right engine, plus a master switch in the center. The master switch was switched by pulling (ignition off) or depressing (ignition on) the center post, iamnd was able to kill both engines simultaneously.

Both switches turn easily to their respective positions and the ‘PULL’ knob at the top center moves in and oput as originally designed.

This is an amazing piece of aviation memorabilia from the late WWII Douglas A-20 Havoc and combined with its detailed scale model of the aircrfat perched atop its magnetic removable diosplay arm and Detailed printed Fact Sheet, would make a fantastic gift for any aviation enthusiast.
