1943 issued AN 5771-1 Grumman F6F Hellcat Fuel Pressure Gauge

Installed in the Engine Instrument Panel opposite the pilot's right knee, the 1AN 5771-1 Fuel Pressure Gauge sits just below the aircraft's Oil Temperature gauge and to the left of the Fuel gauge.

The Hellcat's 2,000 hp (1,500 kW) Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine was the same powerplant used for both the F4U Corsair and the USAAF Republic P-47 Thunderbolt giving the carrier-launched fighter a speed of over 386 mph. Although this was slower then the F4U Corsair, it was soon discovered that the Grumman F6F Hellcat could out-perform the Japanese AM6 Zero at all altitudes.

Hellcats were credited with destroying a total of 5,223 enemy aircraft whilst in service with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm which was more than any other Allied naval aircraft.

Manufactured by the Electric Auto-Lite Co this 1AN 5771-1, Fuel Pressure Gauge comes complete with Manufacture's plate and is dated 1943.

What a fantastic aviation collectable this original WWII Hellcat cockpit instrument would be with its detailed F6F Hellcat scale model, atop its 100yr old Mango Wood stand. A rare one-of-a-kind gift for any aviation enthusiast or budding, active or retired pilot.

This Grumman F6F Hellcat Instrument comes complete with detailed Scale Model, Mango Wood Stand & Plaque plus Printed Fact Sheet featuring photo of instrument in aircraft cockpit.
