Original Smiths AI/230 700Kt Airspeed Indicator installed in the high-altitude, British Cold War strategic nuclear bomber - the Handley Page Victor

This original Smiths AI/230 700kt Handley Page Victor Airspeed Indicator is in excellent condition with an unmarked glass face and operating, rotating speed limiter pointer. The rear casing has the manufacturer's production plate and also bears a 1962 service stamp.

The larger needle travels around the outer dial of the airspeed indicator while the inner needle measures off in 100kt increments. After 666.74 kts (Mach 1 - the speed of sound) the pilot would read off the Mach Airspeed Indicator to the left of the Smiths dial.

With a highly detailed 1/72 scale model of the Handley Page Victor Bomber perched atop its hand crafted mango wood stand, this would make a fantastic gift for any aviation enthusiast.

This Handley Page Victor Instrument comes complete with detailed Scale Model, Mango Wood Stand & Plaque plus Printed Fact Sheet featuring photo of instrument in aircraft cockpit.
