1943 issued AN 5771-1 Lockheed P-38 Lightning Fuel Pressure Gauge

Installed on the far left of the pilot's main instrument panel beneath the P-38's Directional Compass, the 1AN 5771-1 Fuel Pressure Gauge sat just above the aircraft's Carburetor Temperature gauge.

The Lockheed P-38 twin 1,000 hp (750 kW) turbo supercharged, 2-cylinder Allison V-1710 twin engines were fitted with counter-rotating propellers to eliminate the effect of uncontrolled engine torque, with the turbochargers positioned behind the engines and the exhaust side of the units exposed along the dorsal surfaces of the booms.

Manufactured by the Electric Auto-Lite Co this 1AN 5771-1, Fuel Pressure Gauge comes complete with Manufacture's plate and is dated 1943.

What a fantastic aviation collectable this original WWII P-38 Lightning cockpit instrument would be with its detailed P-38 Lightning scale model, atop its 100yr old Mango Wood stand. A rare one-of-a-kind gift for any aviation enthusiast or budding, active or retired pilot.

This P-38 Lightning Instrument comes complete with detailed Scale Model, Mango Wood Stand & Plaque plus Printed Fact Sheet featuring photo of instrument in aircraft cockpit.
