Original Smiths AI/230 700kt Airspeed Indicator installed in the British and Australian carrier-launched De Havilland Sea Venom

This original Smiths AI/230 700kt Sea Venom Airspeed Indicator is in excellent condition with an unmarked glass face and operating, rotating speed limiter pointer. The rear casing has the manufacturer's production plate and also bears a 1962 service stamp.

The larger needle travels around the outer dial of the airspeed indicator while the inner needle measures off in 100kt increments. After 666.74 kts (Mach 1 - the speed of sound) the pilot would read off the Mach Airspeed Indicator to the left of the Smiths dial.
