Mk IIA Air Temp Indicator installed in the WWII British Naval Air fighter/reconnaissance patrol aircraft, the Fairey Firefly

One of the first WWII British, carrier-launched, long-range, anti-submarine/shipping attack aircraft, the two seater, Fairey Firefly was one of the most heavily armed naval strike aircraft its era.

With its all-metal alloy construction and fold up wings, it set a new precedent for maritime patrol and interception and could carry a wide range of under wing armament including 500lb bombs and rockets.

The pilot and observer sat isolated in their own operational positions with both cockpits featuring explosive bolt, fully jettisonable canopies.

This Mk IIA Air Temp Indicator was installed in the lower right-hand side of the pilots flying panel and is an original and authentic artefact from tis remarkable WWII and later, Korean War fighter/bomber, carrier-launched patrol aircraft.

Mounted on a stylish 100yr old Mango Wood Display Stand with engraved plaque and a highly detailed 1/72 or 1/48 scale model of this British Fleet Air anti-submarine patrol aircraft perched above, on its magnetic display arm and detailed Fact Sheet, it’s an ideal gift for any aviation enthusiast.

The 1/72 and 1/48 scale, hand-built and airbrushed plastic models are available with a choice of two Squadron markings and camouflage as well as either in full flight mode with canopy open or closed, or landed mode with flaps and wheels down and canopy open or closed.
