This Lewis Engineering Co, Oil Temperature Indicator was one of three located on the top right of the main Engineer’s flight panel - in a row between the Oil Pressure Indicators above and the Oil Quantity Indicators below.
Positioned just behind the Co-pilot the large engineering panel filled the starboard wall and rear bulkhead providing real time reporting on all of the KC-10s operating systems and engine status.
With the last service date stamp of AUG 16, 1995, this was an operational instrument from a deployed McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender and recovered after its decommissioning.
It also still carries its FAA Approved sticker and is complete with its rear data plate and plastic data plug cover.
Mounted on its 100 yr old Mango Wood stand with a highly detailed hand crafted and airbrushed model of the USAF KC-10 Aerial Tanker/Transporter and informative Fact Sheet, this would make an extraordinary and highly valued, original memento of aeronautical innovation for any aviation enthusiast.
This McDonnell Douglas KC-10 instrument comes complete with detailed 1/72 Scale Model, Mango Wood Stand & Plaque plus Printed Fact Sheet featuring photo of collectable on aircraft.
