Rare Royal Flying Corp Mk VA Zenith Altimeter with original RFC Cap Badge

This Mk VA Zenith Altimeter was installed in the late Sopwith Camel Royal Flying Corp biplane fighter and is exceptional condition for its age.

Whilst the original glass face has been replaced, the adjustment knob at the base still rotates the altitude dial as original intended and still appears to be in working condition.

The pointer rotates counterclockwise as the aircraft climbs, indicating height of the aircraft along the outer scale.  As the aircraft exceeds 15,000 ft, height is read on the inner scale to 20,000 ft.

This Broad Arrow stamped, Mk VA No: 35205 Zenith Altimeter is a genuine WWI veteran and comes mounted in a 100yr old Mango Wood Stand complete with engraved Plaque and a detailed, double sided laminated Fact Sheet PLUS an original Royal Flying Corp Cap Badge.

It also comes with a detachable magnetic arm and a beautifully detailed 1/72 or larger 1/48 scale hand built model of this RFC single seater biplane fighter. What an amazing gift for the aviation enthusiast in your life!
